Requisition ID: 75090

Description

This internship position will be working on DFT (Density functional theory) simulations for BAW materials:

Temperature compensation material (SiO2):

Simulation of "positive temperature coefficient of elasticity" (TCE) effect in amorphous SiO2. Further simulate impact of doping elements, like B, P, F, on TCE.

Piezoelectric material (AlN):

Simulate impact of dopants on the piezoelectrical and mechanical properties of AlN. Simulate impact of a couple of already evaluated dopants to calibrate simulation model. Simulate new promising dopants which have still to be determined.

Literature searches need to be done before starting simulations for both topics.

Required Experience and Skills

Position requires MS or PHD level student with degree in Applied Physics or similar.

Must be a student currently enrolled in a University making forward progress towards degree.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour.
