About the role:

TFG Design and Manufacturing are forming a New Denim Design & Merchandising Team that will be supplying the entire group with a local QR opportunity for denim on a very fast lead time as well as a research & product development focus. As part of forming this team we require a Denim Technical Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

Work extensively on-site & off-site with strategic suppliers to enhance their performance and drive cost efficiencies. Collaborate closely with heads of buying and planning and their denim teams to ensure strategic objectives are met within the designated timelines. Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure continuous improvement in supplier performance and alignment with company goals. Engage directly with suppliers to develop and execute improvement plans and troubleshoot issues in real-time. Serve as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams, facilitating effective communication and partnership. Participate in regular review meetings with the Task Force Champion to report on progress and align on future strategies. Work closely with the D&M Design & Merchandise team to facilitate the set-up & running of Product development Studio for Denim for the Group, reporting to the Head of Merchandise & Design. Leading the Product Development Team in setting up Denim Product development process & timeline to align to retail specific demand. 

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience within retail, manufacturing, supply chain and sourcing. In-depth knowledge of design, product development, manufacturing processes, sourcing strategies, and retail dynamics. Minimum 3-5 years experience within the denim industry and its specific challenges and opportunities. Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of design, product development, improving supplier performance and achieving cost reductions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence suppliers, buyers, and planners and foster strong strategic partnerships. Ability to travel frequently to supplier sites and work flexibly according to project needs. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using data to make informed decisions and drive improvements. Experience in Sustainable Denim Washing & Lasering technology & the technical detail & knowhow thereof. Knowledge of Denim Fabric & it’s unique nature.  Product Development Knowledge & Understanding of Market Segmentation & strong business acumen.
