Denim Pattern Designer

TFG Design and Manufacturing are forming a New Denim Design & Merchandising Team that will be supplying the entire group with a local QR opportunity for denim on a very fast lead time as well as a research & product development focus. As part of forming this team we require a Denim Pattern Designer.

Key Responsibilities:

Create Denim Patterns on computer using Lectra and available references, keeping in mind the specific shrinkages on denim as well as specific needs by factory based on automated machinery. Liaise with Designer on requirements Communicate with Sample Room on requirements Measure Garments Grading Attend Fit Sessions with Designer Liaise with retail Technologist Handle queries from factories

Qualifications and Experience:

Matric Has proven competency in Denim Pattern Making & Grading (3-5 years) Experience with the Lectra Windows system would be advantageous. Garment Construction Knowledge specific to Denim.

Skills: 

Computerized Patternmaking Grading Garment Construction Knowledge Good analytical and problem-solving skills Multi-tasking with the ability to focus and attend to multiple things To be able to perform at a high level of accuracy with little supervision To be self-motivated, well organized, and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines. Proven written and verbal communication skills Sound decision-making ability Has good interpersonal and communication skills Has a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
