**SUMMARY**
The Defense Contracts Manager is responsible for managing the full contract life cycle from cradle to grave. This includes analyzing and writing proposals, monitoring and ensuring compliance with all aspects of the contract requirements, including contract administration tasks, reviewing Statements of Work, and negotiating various contractual vehicles. The Defense Contracts Manager will interface directly with the client (USG or other third-party customers) to effectively administer the contract.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Review and administer new Customer contract requirements for Program as needed.
+ Review, comprehend, and be able to communicate government requirements and regulatory guidance from various sources (FAR, DFARS, DLA, etc.).
+ Assist Program Manager in identifying and proposing contract modifications and changes.
+ Communicate effectively to AAR staff and clients, orally and in writing, the requirements, provisions, clauses, and various factors surrounding the RFQ/RFP/IFB.
+ Negotiate prices with Customer personnel when required as authorized by AAR Business Units.
+ Track, monitor, consolidate and manage quotation files to meet the due dates. Verify and remove invalid requirements, and keep records current.
+ Document preparation including NDAs, Teaming Agreements, Contracts, Subcontracts, and other agreements (long and short term).
+ Work with Finance, Legal and Business staff to prepare and deliver proposals.
+ Advises Business Leaders on risks.
+ All other duties as assigned.

+ Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
+ Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ 4-7 years of experience in contracts, government affairs, procurement/purchasing, business development, or similar government/defense business discipline required.
+ Experience with a Government agency is preferred.
+ Prior experience in the Defense industry is preferred.
+ Experience with FAR/DFARs requirements is preferred.
+ A self-starting team player with multi-tasking ability and strong interpersonal skills is the ideal candidate for this position.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000 annually. This range reflects the base salary for candidates who meet the requirements of the role, including experience, education, and location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a bonus.
