Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Deep Pumping Stations Director to join our team! In this role you will get to provide technical leadership and direction for every phase of a large infrastructure program, consisting of multiple drainage system, tunneling and pumping station projects.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deep Pumping Stations Director to implement solutions to some of the most complex challenges for this program, who has proven experience of leading successful rainwater pumping station projects in the GCC and Internationally, particularly in urban settings. Experience with climate resilience and sustainable infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
The Deep Pumping Stations Director will provide guidance and clear direction to the program team, even when faced with the most nuanced of obstacles. We are targeting accomplished industry experts; in possession of a collaborative attitude and proven leadership capability. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills and extensive experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
Provide overall technical leadership and direction for all aspects of the deep pumping stations within the project. Develop and implement the strategy for the design, construction, and operation of the pumping stations, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
Ensure that all pumping station activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
Review and approve all pumping station designs, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with design and engineering teams to address any technical challenges or issues that arise. Ensure that all pumping station designs incorporate best practices and innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.
Providing technical expertise and guidance on all design methodologies, collaborating with the relevant engineering teams to ensure that plans result in a structurally sound outcome.
Oversee the work of D&B contractors, ensuring that all pumping station activities are executed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements. Address and resolve any construction-related issues or challenges that arise.
Act as the primary point of contact for all pumping station-related stakeholders, including government authorities, contractors, and community representatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure their support and cooperation throughout the project lifecycle.
Managing workforce to ensure efficiency is maximized and set schedules are maintained within budget. Taking preventative action when required to ensure that critical milestones on project are met.
Ensuring the use of sound design and construction practices to safeguard quality control across the complete scope of work.
Proactive leadership and management of the relevant stakeholders to the design department.
Managing department budgets, procurement strategies and cashflow.
Preparing and presenting periodic reports to summarize design activity progress for senior internal management in addition to external stakeholders.
Mentoring and leading employees fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation.
Ensure the implementation of advanced pumping technologies and systems to create a state-of-the-art drainage network.
Oversee the integration and management of MEICA systems within the pumping stations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Ensure all MEICA systems are designed and implemented in compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical engineering in addition to professional qualifications deemed relevant to the seniority of this role.
20+ years of experience in the civil, mechanical engineering industry, majorly secured within the design function. A minimum 10+ years of experience within a role of similar seniority.
Extensive experience with the design and construction of deep pumping stations, including submersible and dry-pit pumps.
In-depth knowledge of hydraulic systems, pump selection, and performance optimization.
Familiarity with electrical and control systems for pumping stations, including SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
Experience with the integration of pumping stations into larger water management systems.
Experience with sustainable infrastructure projects and climate resilience initiatives is highly desirable.
Knowledge of maintenance and operational best practices for pumping stations.
GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) experience preferred
Extensive experience with MEICA systems in the context of pumping stations is essential.
