DEBTORS MANAGER

Job Purpose:

Maximise productivity & supervision within the Debtors Collection team.  Minimizing the need for hand over accounts. Team leaders will be specialized in different aspects of the debt collection department and supervise that team in line with this specialization.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervision of team

Weekly staff statistics on collections, PTP made, time on telephone.Intervening where standards are not met via training or disciplinary.Updates on risk categories of debt and the way forward.Allocating specific work to staff via Excalibur or manually (Call campaigns)Ensuring call quality by listening to calls regularly.Assisting collectors during a call by using the call whispering function.Deal with escalated queries or high-risk debtors.Tracing on CPB as required by team members.Assist with month end report/sCompile Payment report versus User performance and payment arrangement report for Target measurement.

Administration

Escalation from the Collection team.All statements sent to account payers on specified dates.Daily control and monitoring of diarized issues and timeous action thereof.Prepare weekly/Monthly reports for management (Age/Debit orders/journals – non-collection report).Ensures that engagement with clients daily is professional and that customer queries are resolved timeously.Build trustworthy relationships with assigned debtors both telephonically, written and face to face relationships.Registration period responsibilities (but not limited to).Weekly reporting every Monday.


Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications

Matric Qualification (NQF Level 4)

Experience

Debt collection experience – minimum 7 yearsDebt collection supervision – minimum 3 years

 

Key Competencies

Supervision, training and disciplining of staff.Deal with customers diligently, courteously and professionally while collecting payments (Excellent telephone manner).Ability to understand and read a statement, in order to identify overdue account.Be concise and assertive, although also persuasive and patient.Excel knowledge.Customer service orientated and some knowledge of CPA.Self-motivated, reliable negotiation experts who care for our clients as well as our company.
