DDC Technician
*Join the Construction & Facilities Maintenance team! * This position serves as a technician in operating a large scale computer based Direct Digital Control system (DDC) to monitor the status of an Energy Management System (EMS) for Dept of Military Affairs facilities across the state. This position works under direct guidance of the DDC Systems Manager in learning the components, capabilities and outputs of the DDC system. Typical duties include: * Troubleshoots emergency situations identified by field personnel; * Alerts field personnel of mechanical complications or failures due to system alarms. * Duties include performing diagnostics of HVAC and facility mechanical systems. * provides data and analysis on system features to mechanical and electrical supervisors for troubleshooting purposes. * Trains in software capabilities to create customized reporting and alarm actions. * Monitors individual room and building usage, creates and manages electronic schedules of facility usage. This position does not supervise others. Must have demonstrated ability to work and engage in diverse working environments within and outside the department. *Physical and Environmental Demands:*Predominant work takes place in a traditional office environment with computer usage, monitoring both electronic and hard copy records, and in person and phone communication. This position also interacts with and participates in repair and maintenance operations in facilities both at Fort Harrison and occasionally at locations across the state. *Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*Knowledge of computers, electrical, plumbing, Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC), construction, engineering, machine/mechanics, and property management. *Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):*Knowledge of project planning, quality insurance procedures, State and federal building and maintenance standards (e.g. OSHA regulations, applicable building codes, etc.). Knowledge of contract coordination, building design, and personnel management policies and procedures. The position requires the ability to apply mathematical principles; apply database analysis and design; interpret regulations; understand and adhere to policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines; respond in a timely manner to special requests; work independently and as part of a team; to organize work and solve problems; establish and maintain effective working relationships; and to communicate effectively. *Education & Experience:*Requires education and experience equivalent to completion of an HVAC Technician and HVAC certification.
