Citi Trends is looking for a dedicated Distribution HR Generalist to join our DC team at one of the largest chains in the value-priced urban apparel industry. In this role, you will be an integral part in key areas of focus including recruitment, selection, training and development, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, workers compensation administration, record keeping, reception, consultation and all HR administrative duties. Your organized nature and five years of prior HR management experience will be the keys to your success as you manage and lead the HR team’s daily operations. This position is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic.


Job Responsibilities: Responsible for the implementation and administration of Human Resources policies, procedures and programs established for Distribution Center Associates.  Manages the day-to-day Human Resources issues and concerns in order to attract, motivate and retain a quality workforce. This position reports directly to the Human Resources Director (Distribution) and indirectly to the Vice President of Supply Chain Operations. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Others duties may be assigned.



Serve as the key point of contact for both associate and management for all areas of HR policies and procedures.
Advise and support managers in resolving associate issues.
Respond to EEOC and regulatory complaints.
Identify issues; develop plans and counsel management regarding areas, which impact the distribution center from a cost or trend perspective.
Direct recruiting, interviewing, and selection of employees to fill vacant positions.
Direct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude towards company goals.
Represent the distribution center at personnel related hearing and investigations.
Investigate review and respond as needed to complaints of harassment and discrimination.
Ensure day to day company and governmental compliance with all standard HR practices and processes. Including workers compensation, ADA and FMLA.
Knowledge of Federal, State and Local labor laws and regulations.
Federal & State Required Legal Postings
Continually increase and facilitate the communication and sharing of ideas between management and associates.
Provide effective coaching to management and hourly associates on varied HR issues and concerns.
Consult with management on associate relations and/or termination decisions at appropriate escalation levels.
Participate on various and/or company committees.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Conducts in-house training programs as needed.
Work to reduce turnover by establishing programs which promote associate retention.
Oversee employee and facility social and welfare functions.
Provide or obtain necessary training for DC Supervisors and Managers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field; and 10 year’s experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and understand documents such as general correspondence, department reports and office procedures.  Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and fellow associates.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
