Essential Job Functions:
Beginning of shift, verify material not scanned that is to be shipped is correct per order and weight distribution in partially loaded truck is correct. Perform quality monitoring on product as detailed in the inspection and test plan for the wire mill and shop orders. Know his/her responsibility associated with job for ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), BSI 18001 (Safety) standards at Alcan Wmpt. is registered. Spot trailers at loading dock or other designated areas. Load, block and secure finished goods on flatbed trailers as called for in the load plan and ship order. Load, block and secure finished goods on van trailers as called for in the load plan and ship order. Unload rod from railcars and van trailers Clean rail cars and trucks before loading and after unloading. Unload receipts from trailers Handle steel core wire. Place into storage and maintain area. Receive, maintain and inventory wood reels/empty steel reels. Unload and deliver incoming material to stock room or other specified area Keep shipping area neat and clean. Refuel lift truck LP cylinder Change electric lift truck battery Read and follow ship order information Perform housekeeping and total preventative maintenance Perform other duties as directed. Inspect crane per safety check list at beginning of shift.

Step up onto lift truck Lift and carry wooden racks Nail dunnage to flat bed and trailer floor Removing packaging and scan product code label. Move dunnage to unload and load material. Stack large pieces of cardboard when unloading rod coils from rail cars and trailers.

Step up onto electric lift truck - (Hyster - 10,000 lb. capacity) - 31"; 50 to 100 times per shift Lift and carry wood racks – wood racks weigh 15 pounds and 37 pounds, stacked 32inches high. Nail dunnage to floor – bent over at waist operating pneumatic nail gun; nail gun weighs between 10 pounds to 12 pounds. Removing packaging and scan product code labels; bent over at waist reaching into center of reel.
