Job Description
Responsible for mechanical component fabrication. Knowledgeable of applicable processes and standards covering parts machining, welding, design, and fabrication. Interface with Mechanical Engineers and Designers on fabrication methods and processes. Perform manual tasks such as rust treatment, painting and materials removal, metal grinding, cutting and the application of various solutions. Able to work independently and as part of a team, comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights. Maintain and adhere to operational procedures and work instructions, follow work orders, and assist with preparation of reports and appropriate documentation to include following test procedures and recording results.
ResponsibilitiesFabricate mechanical components according to design specifications.Perform welding tasks using MIG and TIG techniques.Interact with Mechanical Engineers and Designers to determine fabrication methods.Conduct rust treatment, painting, material removal, metal grinding, cutting, and application of solutions.Adhere to operational procedures and work instructions.Follow work orders and assist with report preparation and documentation.Operate basic powered and hand tools.Lead small project teams and provide guidance to new or entry-level employees.Essential SkillsProficiency in MIG and TIG welding.Experience in fabrication and production welding.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Skilled in grinding and metalworking.Experience with the use of tape measures and other measuring tools.Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding and fabrication.Possess problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.Additional Skills & QualificationsShop FabricationSteel FabricationStructural FabricationWelding FabricationAWS certification for various metalsActive TS/SCI security clearanceAbility to obtain a Secret clearanceVocational or technical education in welding or fabricationProficiency with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The role requires extensive knowledge of welding and fabrication procedures obtained through prior work experience or education. The work involves physical activities such as standing, walking, moving, climbing, bending, crawling, reaching, and handling tools. Employees must be able to focus on items less than 20 inches away, see in three dimensions, and distinguish all colors. Travel out of NM for up to 9 months may be required.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.11 - $22.11/hr.
