Job Description Insight Global is looking for a Database Migration Specialist to join the Global Solutions Engineering team to sit 100% Remote. This team will be launching a groundbreaking new product function focused on helping enterprises modernize their infrastructure through Database migration. As one of the first technical specialists in this new team, this individual will have the opportunity to shape the migration service offerings while working with diverse clients across various industries. Database Migration Specialist will lead end-to-end Database migration projects, transforming single VM monolithic applications into enterprise-grade, multi-tier architectures, Architect and implement database migration strategies across various use cases, including e-commerce platforms, healthcare systems, and metrics/logging solutions. Database Migration Specialist will design and implement secure migration patterns for sensitive data handling, including personal records and protected health information and collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements and design tailored migration strategies. Interpersonal and communication skills are incredibly important for the success of this individual, and the ability to mentor team members and contribute to building out migration practice from the ground up and communicate updates to technical and non-technical individuals. To be successful, this individual must have previous experience leading and implementing a Database Migration within an enterprise environment, utilizing MYSQL, PostrgreSQL, Mongo DB, and Redis/Valkey. This teams' hours are based off EST, with flexibility to other time zones. This position is 100% remote sitting out of the following hubs: Austin, Boston, Denver, San Francisco, Seattle. Skills and Requirements * 7-10+ years of architect-level experience with relational and NoSQL databases: o MySQL database architecture, optimization, and scaling o PostgreSQL high-availability configurations and performance tuning o MongoDB cluster design and data modeling o Redis/Valkey cache implementation and optimization * 5+ years of experience leading Database Migrations within enterprise level environments, providing technical support as well as expertise of best practices * Expert-level experience with Apache Kafka, including: o Designing event-driven architectures o Setting up highly available Kafka clusters o Implementing stream processing solutions * Strong background in cloud technologies and infrastructure-as-code practices * Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with both technical and non-technical stakeholders * Previous experience leading a Kubernetes migration for industry leading companies such as: GCP, AWS, AZURE, ORACLE, IBM * OpenSearch or Elasticsearch experience null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
