The anticipated salary range for this role is between $97,000.00 and $156,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

JRI America, Inc. (a subsidiary of SMBC) is seeking an Oracle Database PL/SQL Developer to work in the Oracle Application & Database Support department.

Role Objectives Support reporting of business applications using Oracle databases for North America and EMEA. Design and develop solutions to meet complex business requirements. Develop and manage PL/SQL database objects, SQL scripts and Interfaces using data management toolsets (TOAD), source version control systems (Perforce) and application deployment tool (Urban code). Develop, implement and support Business Event and Workflow processes. Design, develop and implement new and enhanced interfaces with other internal and external systems. Produce detailed system requirements specifications, complex data flow diagrams, test plans, swim lane and process diagrams using standardized documentation methods. Ensure that proposed solutions comply with the company’s technology direction. Ensure compliance with company’s change and security policies. Interface with Developers, Analysts and Business Stakeholders to understand and propose technology solutions to meet complex business and technical objectives. Provide subject matter expertise on the capabilities/constraints of existing systems and proposed solutions. Work closely with development and design teams in the creation and validation of user interfaces and functional/non-functional requirements. Provide technical support for managed reporting application systems. Late night production support and weekend implementation work will be required. Some budget accountability may be expected as projects are presented and approved by Sr. Management. Key Responsibilities: -70% - Designing, building, testing, and improving interfaces for applications supported. -10% - Strategy/Planning -20% - Production support for night batch issues
  Qualifications and Skills Ability to absorb & present complex ideas quickly & accurately. Ability to provide solutions on a tight deadline. Good prioritizing and time management. Have a positive approach to work and to fellow team members. Experience in creating complex Stored Procedures, Tables, Views, Materialized Query tables, Indexes and SQL. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Some Experience in IT Strategy and Architecture planning a plus. 3+ years' experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Technical Developer. TOAD experience is a must. Strong PL/SQL programming skills. Excellent SQL tuning experience. Ability to understand Lending, Trade finance, Deposits, Treasury, Money Transfer and payment applications and analyze any new applications introduced in the bank. Preferred Working knowledge of Loan IQ and familiarity with LOAN IQ data model. Experience and knowledge of Oracle Finance EBS (GL, AP) and reconciliation with external source applications a plus. Some knowledge of Accounting Principles a plus. Preferred experience working on complex system integration projects within a heavy technical environment Prior Banking and IT Compliance project experience. Oracle 11g or 12c experience is a must. Should have strong English communication and writing skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities. Must be willing to work in an energetic, fast paced and team-oriented development environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively is a necessity. Provides technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new technologies, which assist the functional business users. University Degree/Preferably in a field related to computer science or software engineering. Oracle certification a plus. Must be willing to work some weekends and late nights to support upgrades, changes, and user support via on-call rotation. Key Competencies: -50% - Strong experience with Oracle PL/SQL code using complex SQL queries and a good understanding of relational databases. -30% - Experience in database performance monitoring, SQL query tuning, analysis, and optimization -20% - Ability to gather and analyze end user requirements, build specifications.
