Tuvli is seeking a senior-level SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team supporting a Federal Government client in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Responsibilities
• Manages, configures, and maintains SQL Server databases in high-availability and secure environments
• Ensures database performance, reliability, and scalability through monitoring, tuning, and regular maintenance
• Implements security best practices, aligning with DISA STIG compliance and other government standards
• Oversees backup and recovery strategies using native tools such as SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), PowerShell, and third-party software
• Migrates databases across platforms, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to compliance standards
• Automates routine tasks to enhance operational efficiency, utilizing SQL Server Agent, PowerShell, and other scripting tools
• Collaborates with developers and business stakeholders to troubleshoot and optimize queries and database designs
• Creates and maintains documentation of processes and procedures to support continuous improvement
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
8+ years of experience managing SQL Server databases (SQL Server 2016 and later preferred)
Must have a Secret Clearance
CompTIA Security+ certification required within 6 months of hire date
Expertise in database security, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning
Hands-on experience with SQL Server Always On, replication, and clustering in a Windows environment
Experience in cloud environments (AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database) is a plus
Familiarity with DISA STIG compliance and securing databases according to federal requirements.
Proficiency in T-SQL, PowerShell scripting, and database automation
Desired Qualifications :
Familiarity with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), and SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services)
Experience working with federal clients or in highly regulated environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business teams
Experience in implementing encryption and advanced security measures within SQL Server databases
