As a Senior Database Administrator, you will independently support the global design, implementation, and maintenance of high-availability infrastructure for large-scale database platforms, ensuring the reliability and availability of business-critical applications. You will provide guidance and expertise on strategy, best practices, and ensure continuous improvement in database management.

Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain technical infrastructure and system software components for high-availability databases. Analyze business problems, evaluate potential technologies, and recommend solutions that meet business and technology requirements, optimizing for cost-effectiveness. Lead the implementation and configuration of database infrastructure, ensuring all quality control and change management standards are met. Conduct root cause investigations for database issues, providing actionable recommendations and preventative measures. Proactively identify gaps in support processes, documentation, and procedures, prioritizing improvement actions. Develop and maintain processes, procedures, and best practices for database administration. Provide regular operational, incident, and change status reports to management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and handle additional duties as required. Requirements:

Education and Experience:

5+ years of experience in database hosting systems, focusing on high availability, performance, and reliability. Strong experience with automation of core database administration functions. Proficient in database platform administration, including installation, patching, clustering, log-shipping, and performance tuning. Familiarity with scripting languages such as Shell, SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell. Strong skills in at least one enterprise operating system. Comprehensive understanding of application/data security best practices. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to share and explain complex concepts to various stakeholders. Ability to work under tight deadlines, adapt to new methods quickly, and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well in team environments, providing leadership and support as needed.
