About the Job Data Scientist - Telecommute Position PetSmart LLC seeks a full-time Data Scientist. Telecommuting available from anywhere in US. HQ at Phoenix, AZ. Responsible for focusing on business applications of customer loyalty, marketing campaigns, personalization, digital, and services through understanding and driving customer behavior with a combination of production grade of models, reports, and dashboards using big data analytics, advanced statistics, machine learning, deep learning, and experimentation. Responsible for working towards deepening the understanding of our customers and improving the maturity of personalization at PetSmart through the iterative development of segmentation, customer journey, and recommender models across a variety of channels including digital, email, direct mail, and in-store. Assist in the development of the PetSmart Data Science Platform to 1) establish best practices and drive continuous improvement in the data science infrastructure, data management, experimentation, and workflow; 2) transform insights and algorithms into automated data products. Drive growth in our digital business through online machine learning models such as recommender engines and search optimization. Build proof of concepts and exploratory analyses to test new methodologies, experimental designs, and analyses. Work collaboratively with PetSmart Information Systems, Data Engineering, and Marketing Operations teams to develop cross-functional capabilities to improve customer experience and drive value. Develop insightful and condensed visualizations out of complex analytics and provide actionable recommendations for various business teams. This position requires a Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Management, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Quantitative Social Science, or related field and two (2) years of related experience. Experience must include two (2) years of experience, which may be concurrent, with all of the following: 1) Working with SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Databricks, Spark, and GitHub; 2) Developing descriptive, predictive and causal analysis, linear, logistic, and tree-based regression, and customer behavioral analytics; 3) Machine learning including supervised and unsupervised learning, recommendation systems, ML pipeline, and ML Operations; 4) Natural language processing techniques including deep learning powered language embedding, and natural language understanding; and 5) Data processing including model assessment and selection, monitoring and diagnostic, refresh, re-training, and production.
