**Job Title:** Full Stack Data Scientist **Job Details:** Our client is seeking a **Full Stack Data Scientist** to join their Digital Factory team. You will be part of an expanding data science chapter, helping to drive business value by developing and deploying advanced data science solutions that enhance decision-making and improve operational performance. Your role will span the entire data science lifecycle, from proof of concept (PoC) to production and ongoing sustainment. The squads focus on areas such as predictive maintenance, rail optimization, digital manufacturing, knowledge management with GenAI, and new product development, offering plenty of room for skill growth and innovation. If so, this contract role could be the perfect fit for you.** **Responsibilities:** **Solution Development:** + Translate business requirements into technical hypotheses and execute proof of concepts (PoCs). + Develop and refine advanced analytics models, including forecasting, optimization, GenAI, and more. **Solution Implementation:** + Deploy scalable, production-ready solutions on Databricks. + Apply software engineering best practices, including version control and robust documentation. **Solution Sustainment:** + Monitor and maintain production data science solutions, ensuring optimal performance and addressing issues like model drift or data pipeline failures. + Act as the primary point of contact between IT and the Digital Factory team, collaborating on sustainment needs, monitoring processes, and model updates. **Collaboration:** + Work closely with the broader technical and product teams to define requirements and successfully develop and deploy data science solutions. **Communication:** + Present clear and impactful insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. + Translate complex data science outputs into actionable business recommendations. **Qualifications:** + **Education:** Bachelor's, MSc, or PhD in engineering, computer science, or a related field (chemical or mechanical engineering preferred). + **Programming:** Proficient in Python and related data science libraries. + **Data Science Expertise:** Solid foundation in data science, including statistics, machine learning, large language models, and optimization, with 2-6 years of practical experience in at least one of these areas. + **E2E Development:** Experience with the full lifecycle of data science, from PoC to deployment. + **MLOps:** Experience with cloud platforms and integrations for scalable deployments. Familiarity with Databricks, MLflow, and Apache Spark is a plus. + **Sustainment Expertise:** Experience in monitoring and maintaining production systems, resolving issues like model drift or pipeline failures, and improving performance monitoring. + **Software Best Practices:** Skilled in Git, branching, merging, and code reviews. + **Business Acumen:** Understanding of petrochemical processes is a plus. + **Communication:** Able to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. + **Problem-Solving:** Adaptable and innovative in tackling ambiguous problems. + **Agile:** Able to manage tasks effectively within sprints, balancing timelines and workloads. **Additional Information:** + Compensation will be based on education and experience (junior to intermediate rate range). + Some infrequent travel to operating sites in Joffre or Sarnia may be required. + The position offers flexible work-from-home options on Mondays and Fridays, with the requirement to report to the office Tuesday through Thursday.
