Data Science Manager

Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for developing innovation solutions? Join our team! As a Data Science Manager, you will work Business Partners, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and other IT teams to ensure a tight fit between Business Intelligence/Analytics environment, business requirements, and the Data Management platforms. You are responsible for combining data from multiple sources into BI-specific data models to create meaningful reports, visualizations, and dashboards. Ultimately, your goal will be able to help your customers discover actionable insights and data-driven decisions. You will also support Data Science efforts including predictive/prescriptive analytics and AI analysis of big data.

Position responsible for extracting meaningful insights from an organization's data, translating complex information into actionable strategies, and guiding decision-making across different departments by leveraging data analysis and reporting capabilities to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement within the business. 

As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

Responsibilities:

Data collection and analysis:  Gathering data from various sources, cleaning and organizing it, and performing in-depth analysis using statistical methods and data visualization tools to uncover key insights.  Developing data-driven strategies: Transforming insights into actionable plans and recommendations for different business functions like marketing, sales, operations, and product development.  Risk Management:  Development and management of supplier through the S2P Risk Center that includes all data sources such as supplier performance, scorecards, cyber, financial risk and resiliency in accordance with the risk framework while seeking methods to provide insights to SCM team(s) to make more informed decision during supplier selection, award, contracting and during the purchase order lifecycle.  Building dashboards and reports:  Creating visually appealing dashboards and reports to effectively communicate key metrics and performance trends to stakeholders at all levels.  Leading data analysis projects:  Initiating and managing data analysis projects, including identifying relevant data sets, defining project scope, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.  Data governance and quality control:  Ensuring data integrity by establishing data governance practices, monitoring data quality, and identifying potential data issues.  Team management and mentorship:  Leading a team of cross-functional team members, providing guidance, and developing their analytical skills.  

Qualifications You Must Have:

B.A. (or equivalent degree) in Analytics/Business Intelligence or a related field - a higher level degree may substitute for relevant experience.Typically, 6+ years of progressive IT or data analytics, which includes 0-2+ years of management experience.Strong ability to prioritize and communicate to technical and non-technical audiencesUnderstanding of applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithmsDeep understanding of Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing conceptsAdvanced experience with reporting tools (Power BI)Solid SQL skills and the ability to write complex, highly-optimized queriesKnowledge of Supply Chain management, including technology, processes and associated data, KP Strong analytical skills: Expertise in statistical analysis, data mining techniques, and predictive modeling.  Data visualization skills: Proficiency in using data visualization tools to present complex data in a clear and impactful manner.  Business acumen: Understanding of key business drivers and the ability to translate data insights into actionable business strategies.  Communication skills: Effectively communicating data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.  Programming skills: Knowledge of programming languages like Python, R, SQL to manipulate and analyze large datasets.

Previous experience using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig, etcPrevious experience using scripting languages: Python, PySpark, Scala, R, etcExperience with common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka, NumPy, MatLab, AWS Sagemanker, etc.Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableu, etcExperience building data pipelines and driving ETL design decisionsExperience with AWS Data Warehousing: AWS RDS (PostgreSQL), RedshiftExperience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, Amazon DynamoDB
 

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $124,771.42 - $171,560.71. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
