Overview As a Data Products Lead, you have an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team. This is a unique opportunity to build an Agile Product Owner team that provides a comprehensive management and view of data products in a large, multinational organization. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join the AJG Enterprise Data Management team as a lead for the Data Products initiative. AJG’s insurance data is an integral part of the data landscape, providing insights and servicing to our clients. As a Data Product Lead, you will be responsible for driving the development and execution of our insurance data products, ensuring they meet the needs of our organization and customers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders, to define product requirements, prioritize features, and deliver high-quality data products. This role involves significant cross-functional collaboration. You will work in tandem with the IT, Finance, Operations, and other internal partners to populate the insurance data warehouse with high quality data. Key Performance Metrics: # of enhancements to existing platform, usage of the data sets, quality & completeness metrics on critical data elements (CDE) How you'll make an impact Define and prioritize the roadmap for our insurance data products, aligning with the overall business strategy and goals. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their needs, translating them into clear and actionable product specifications. Work closely with data scientists and engineers to ensure the successful development and delivery of our insurance data products, ensuring they meet high quality standards and deliver on time. Identify new ways for obtaining the claims data, through technologies such as AI or OCR. Lead a high-performing data product team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team's success in delivering high-quality data products, while promoting a collaborative and innovative culture within the team. Leads the completion of change management activities across functional partners and ensures adherence to the organization’s risk, controls, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Understand the data needs to design and implement the data architecture and data model for a saleable data driven product organization. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the data product space, ensuring our products remain competitive and innovative. Leads end-to-end product delivery processes including intake, dependency management, release management, product operationalization, delivery feasibility decision-making, and product performance reporting, while escalating opportunities to improve efficiencies and functional coordination. Manage "program/feature" dependencies across multiple teams, scrum teams, functions, divisions, and stakeholders. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of our claims data products, making data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement. Act as the primary point of contact for all insurance data product-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders. Collaborate with the analytics, claims, and sales teams to develop internal strategies for leveraging the insurance data and support the development of external data products. Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in data management, bringing new ideas and best practices to the team. Grow and lead a high-performing data product management team. Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members to foster a culture of innovation and excellence. About You Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably in the data or analytics domain. Insurance industry, insurance brokerage, and/or financial services industry is required to success in this role. Holds experience working both independently and in a virtual, collaborative environment is essential. Comfortable working in a matrix management model with stakeholders and virtual teams across global locations Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, data science, or business analytics preferred. A master's degree is a plus. Strong understanding of data management practices, including data privacy protection, data quality, data architecture & modeling. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable product specifications. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality results. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels and present to groups and external stakeholders. Understanding of data governance and master data management principles. Experience applying Data Protection rules to data, specifically, but not limited to, HIPAA, CCPA, & GDPR Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality claims products. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban. Experience with data visualization tools and techniques is a plus. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Knowledge of the Acord data model is a plus Familiarity with the Microsoft stack and the following technologies: Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, Collibra, and PowerBI Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Management or Engineering (or commensurate experience) and 7 years related product development experience required.
