i3 is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Management Specialist to support a cross-functional software development team in the Command, Control, and Effects (C2E) Product Office of PEO Aviation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for contract deliverable selection and managing and analyzing Agile Software data and associated documentation to support product operation and decision-making. You will work closely with multiple product leads to ensure data integrity, quality, and accessibility.
A data management specialist is responsible for overseeing the acquisition, organization, storage, and utilization of data within an organization. Their primary objective is to ensure that data is properly managed and maintained to meet the organization's needs and objectives.
Responsibilities Data Governance: Develop and implement data management policies and procedures to ensure data quality and compliance with regulations.Data Analysis: Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business strategies.Data Quality Assurance: Monitor data quality and integrity, performing audits and reconciliation activities.Reporting: Create and maintain reports and dashboards to visualize data and communicate findings to stakeholders.Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and ensure alignment with program objectives.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data management processes, data sources, data deliverables, and data flows.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in data management practices and recommend solutions.Build reporting and analytics to support UAS Product activityEnsure stored data is easily accessible to internal and external teamsRespond to inquiries and requests for information from program and product personnel in a timely mannerWork closely with leadership teams to create data management strategies that support data modelingOther duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired Skills:
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in data management tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI) and experience with databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Amazon Web Services, Windchill).Data Governance Knowledge: Understanding of data governance principles and best practices. Data rights planning to reduce costs while balancing risk and ensuring proper government data rights. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to address data-related challenges.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey findings and collaborate with team members.Project Management: Familiarity with project management methodologies, particularly Agile, is a plus.Statistical Knowledge: Basic understanding of statistical analysis and data modeling techniques is beneficial.Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Analysis, or a related role.Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.U.S. Citizenship is required.Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
