The candidate will primarily be working with the Environmental Public Health Tracking program in the Bureau of Environmental Health. The candidate will develop requirements for enhancements to an existing Microsoft-based BI solution for data management and reporting of environmental data & health effects.
While the Public Health Tracking site is the most externally visible work of the PHT team, there are also many more ongoing internal efforts to improve the way the Department manages and shares data internally as well as externally with customers.
This role will help evaluate and document requirements for improvements to the existing PHT site as well as identify potential other solutions for metadata management, data sharing and other process improvements. The candidate will be the sole business analyst on this project and will be part of the Public Health Tracking (PHT) team.
In general, this position will be responsible to evaluate & develop requirements for: revisions to existing reports & data transformation processes, new reporting & data needs for several subject areas, metadata management & reporting, user experience & feedback mechanisms, accessibility, identify gaps between long-term Department needs and limitations of current solution, current Department-wide processes for data management & sharing with external partners including the research community. The candidate will partner with program staff, developing requirements based on Department-wide as well as programmatic needs & Centers for Disease Control mandates.
