The Engineering position inside the ZELIS OAP/INN team responsibilities will include the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of systems and processes responsible for getting the most recent regulatory data updates propagated into several healthcare revenue cycle management products. The position requires detailed knowledge of medical data sets, terminology, data management, X12/EDI/Flat file ETL, as well as support and monitoring of Distil.IO.

This Data Load Engineer position interacts frequently with the core engineering team, and must stay up-to-date with all code releases. The position entails frequent troubleshooting and debugging from stakeholder-originated support requests, discrepancies with external website data set changes, URL changes, and collaborating with other Engineering Team members. As such, this position requires participation in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including the development of design specifications, solution prototyping, implementation, development of unit and system tests.

In addition, the Engineer is expected to identify system weaknesses and recommend solutions, which may be designed and coded by the Engineer. With their broad purview of many aspects of the system, the Engineer is expected to document, assist and train others when needed.

Develop high quality object-oriented code using C# and a mixture of internal and external frameworksAnalyze datasets, collaborate with analysts to devise ways to ingest data from a large number of data sourcesOptimize data structures and processing algorithms for horizontal scalability and parallel executionDevelop automated data validation tools designed to work with problematic data setsDevelop tools to automate data extraction from a variety of source types, from web crawling/scraping to PDF deconstructionDevelop unit and system tests for code developed by self and othersProduce technical specifications and code documentationDesign and develop relational data structures needed to support new development efforts (including keys, indexes, triggers and stored procedures).Design and develop document database structures needed to support new engineering efforts.Perform application performance analysis and tuningConduct and participate in training sessionsIdentify and recommend process improvementsAccurately estimate level of effort and forecast completion targets

Education and Work Experience:

Minimum 2 years developing enterprise/commercial software using the .NET stackExperience with software development using Agile methodologiesExperience in requirements gathering from project stakeholdersBA/BS in Computer Science preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Key Competencies:

Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming using C#. Ability to write maintainable, scalable code that adheres to approved patterns and design principles.Understanding of relational databases in general and Microsoft SQL Server specifically.Familiarity with advanced design principles, such as service-oriented architectures, domain-driven design, IoC and events.Deep understanding of algorithm complexity analysis and selection for large datasets.Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex defects with debugger and profiler tools, such as Microsoft Visual Studio.Strong knowledge of Windows operating system internals.
