Data Engineering Tech Lead

As a Technical Lead, you will be accountable for technical design, management of technical risks, and coaching and mentoring others to ensure engineering standards and non-functional requirements are met. Your expertise in Snowflake, data modeling, Python, Azure, Control M, Datawarehouse concepts, DBT, and Matallion will be crucial in driving our mission to deliver high-quality, efficient, and secure data solutions. **Responsibilities:** + Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure Snowflake data warehouses and data pipelines. + Integrate Snowflake with other data sources/tools like Azure and DBT. + Oversee data modeling activities to ensure data integrity and consistency. + Develop and optimize TSQL queries to enhance database performance. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient technical solutions. + Ensure that all database solutions adhere to industry best practices and security standards. + Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization of database systems. + Monitor and maintain database systems to ensure high availability and reliability. + Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. + Develop and maintain documentation for database architectures, processes, and procedures. + Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards. + Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve database solutions. + Contribute to the overall success of the company by ensuring that database solutions support business objectives and enhance customer satisfaction. + Manage project scope before, during, and post-delivery. + Work closely with Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Product Owners. + Determine requirements and provide project estimates and timelines. + Design Low-Level Design based on High-Level Design provided by Architects. + Oversee deployments and new releases. + Hands-on with development activities ensuring coding standards are followed and met by the team. + Review code before it gets merged to Develop branch or Master. + Make architectural decisions if the right pattern or framework is available. + Identify and remove bottlenecks that impede the progress of projects. + Provide leadership, support, and motivation to Data Engineers. + Ensure project stays within scope, identifying scope creep. + Solve issues and develop workarounds and alternative solutions. + Track pipeline stability and monitor the overall performance and stability of the system. **Qualifications:** + Proficiency in Snowflake, including its handling of semi-structured data and approach to data sharing and security. + Experience designing and developing technical services that provide deep specialized knowledge in a respective area. + Significant experience implementing technology strategic roadmaps for technical services. + Experience coaching and influencing others to ensure high-quality products are delivered. + A track record of building partnerships with stakeholders. + Data modeling expertise, particularly using DBT tailored to Snowflake's architecture. + Strong experience in Python, Azure, Control M, Datawarehouse concepts, and Matallion. + Excellent problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking. + Attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and quality. + Adaptability to keep up with new features and best practices in Snowflake. + Collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. + Effective communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. + Ability to make decisions in the context of the broad strategic direction and understand the future implications of emerging technological and social shifts. + Relevant certifications in data engineering and cloud technologies.
