What the job involves: 

We are currently seeking a Summer Intern in Data Engineering to join our team. In this role, you will learn to build and deploy data pipelines, analyze and document diverse data sources, and present your work to technical and functional teams.

  

As a Summer Intern in Data Engineering at JLL, you will:  

Contribute to and enhance the ongoing process of lead deliveries to leasing brokers.

Collaborate with the data engineering team to improve and streamline data pipelines.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand and address their data needs, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and business objectives.

Develop, maintain, and document data engineering processes, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency.

Continuously monitor data quality and work on implementing data quality checks, data validation, and data cleansing processes.

Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize impact on daily operations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of data engineering solutions within the organization.

Dates:  June 2, 2025 – August 8, 2025

Location: Chicago, IL  

Education, Skills, and Experience 

A student graduating in 2023 from an undergraduate, masters qualification or recently graduated within the last 3 years in Computer Science or any related STEM (Science, Math or Engineering) fields

Project experience working with large datasets, ETL and data analysis

Experience programming in python and SQL or related languages,

Preferably experience with cloud-based data technologies and platforms like Azure or AWS

Understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data warehousing concepts.

Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data security principles.

Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets to extract meaningful insights.

Problem-solving mindset and ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.

Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

10,000.00 – 12,800.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
