What you'll do As a hands on Manager - Data Engineering on the Docusign - Global Data & Analytics Team, you will be responsible for building the foundational data pipelines, and certified data sets. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of data infrastructure at DocuSign, ensuring that our data platforms are robust, scalable, and optimized for performance. You will be responsible for managing a team of talented data engineers while also contributing directly to the design, development, and implementation of data solutions. This is a unique opportunity to lead by example, driving both critical initiatives and hands-on engineering work. This position is a people manager role reporting to the Sr. Manager, Engineering. Responsibility Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation Develop and implement a comprehensive data engineering strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives Architect, design, and build scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions using modern technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Dbt, Airflow, Python, Fivetran,AWS Lambda) Participate in coding, debugging, and performance tuning of data solutions. Lead by example with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and scalability Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, quality, and security, ensuring data accuracy and compliance across all systems Work closely with Product managers, analysts, and business collaborators to understand data needs and deliver high-quality, impactful data solutions Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Use Agile methodologies to manage workflows Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data engineering and analytics, evaluating and recommending new tools and technologies as needed Job Designation Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation) Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. Preferred job designations are not guaranteed when changing positions within Docusign. What you bring Basic 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role Strong expertise in SQL, Python, and data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt) Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) Proven track record of delivering complex data solutions with hands-on involvement in all stages of development Experience managing and mentoring a team of data engineers, with a focus on developing talent and fostering a high-performance culture Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Be able to work from the office 2 days a week in IDC, Bangalore Preferred Experience in the tech industry, particularly in SaaS or cloud-based environments Experienced with data technologies such as Snowflake, Dbt, Airflow, Python and SQL Understanding of CRM/SFDC, GTM, Finance, Sales domain areas Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical collaborators Life at Docusign Working here Docusign is committed to building trust and making the world more agreeable for our employees, customers and the communities in which we live and work.
