JOB DESCRIPTION:

Lead small teams in the development and execution of automated operations for large or multiple diverse projects to successfully and consistently enable delivery of high-quality services on time, on budget, and to specification, reacting quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances to meet business needs. Serve as resource manager for task and workflow resource prioritization. Serve as the initial point of escalation for date engineering issues within specific area of responsibility. Interface with other technical personnel or team members to document, interpret, and finalize requirements. Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of data components of moderate complexity. Serve as focal point for requirements drafting, defining and/or gathering as related to projects within or affecting specific area of responsibility. Specialized business support through in-depth data analysis and research. Independently design queries to assess data for research purposes. Successfully implement and execute data management and analysis processes and procedures which support group expectations. Resolve complex data issues as necessary within specific functional area or data type. Work closely with other technology and business teams to understand moderately complex business needs and translate into team functions. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices. Identify areas for improvement and, with leadership, peers, or others, implement initiatives improving overall capability and efficiency. Produce code that is efficient, repeatable, without defects, and adherent to best practices such as naming conventions, encapsulation, etc. Oversee complex data engineering bug fixes and issues, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate. Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews. Identify opportunities to apply existing automation or other tools to meet testing needs. Serve as subject matter expert in the configuration, maintenance, and/or administration of testing tools, environments, and/or data management. Plan testing for delivery of products and enhancements and to assure products meet product requirements and quality standards. Report issues and results, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate, documenting accordingly. Conduct project reviews, ensuring review criteria are defined, and implement procedures for ensuring quality control of project deliverables. Perform other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required.3 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.Also required is: 3 years of experience: with backend data, including large scale data collection, storage, extract/transform/load, and processing via API; in data modeling and system design, including with relational and graph databases; delivering applied use cases including data classification, network analysis, and recommendation systems; utilizing development languages including SQL, UNIX, Linux, XML, ECL, HPCC, and SALT; leading internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs; writing and reviewing portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components; using various data types and formats including XML, flat files, and delimited; and with extracting and translating findings into alternatives/solutions, identifying risks/impacts and making schedule adjustments to facilitate management decision-making.Employee reports to LexisNexis USA office in San Francisco, CA, but may telecommute from any location within the U.S.Experience can be concurrent.

SALARY RANGE:

$161,246.70 to $201,400/year
