Role Summary The Data Engineer within the Telematics Processing and Insights team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure. You will work with a team of data scientists and engineers to build and operate systems that collect, store, and process large volumes of data for a variety of use cases such as fleet health, infotainment analytics and performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data engineering principles, experience working with big data technologies, and familiarity with medallion data architecture. Responsibilities Design and develop data pipelines and infrastructure Work with large datasets to identify patterns and trends Build and maintain data warehouses and data lakes Implement data security and governance measures Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in data engineering Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, data engineering or a related field 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field Strong foundation in data engineering principles Experience with big data technologies such as Spark and Kafka Comprehensive expertise and proficiency in: Python, SQL, Git Experience with data warehousing and data lakes Strong focus on data quality and data integrity Excellent communication and presentation skills Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Capable of working in a fast-paced development environment Experience with Databricks, dbt, PySpark and Terraform is considered a big plus Equal Opportunity Rivian is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
