As a Data Center Operator supporting various health programs, you will be trusted to work on monitoring mainframe and mid-range systems as well as disaster recovery. This role will be in Rensselaer, NY. Training will be during the day for the first 1-2 months and then move to the night shift. Shift differential is offered for night shift positions!

HOW A DATA CENTER OPERATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Providing monitoring, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support of information systems, applications, and related peripheral hardwarePerforming all required hourly and daily system checks in accordance with prescribed schedulesKeeping the task manager informed of any unusual conditions or problems encountered in the performance of daily dutiesMonitoring of systems and networks within the HPCMP Enterprise utilizing Unix/Linux workstations. Windows systems may also be used in various tasks.Using a variety of interactive tools and processes to determine the health of systems and networks by performing all required hourly and daily system checks in accordance with prescribed schedulesGenerating trouble tickets for tier 2 and 3 support. May route calls to product line specialists, application, or system support specialists.Maintaining and updating record and tracking databases.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma/GED and 1+ years of experience or equivalent years of experienceEnterprise IT experienceExperience utilizing an ITSM tool such as ServiceNowWilling and able to work any overnight shift (7 PM - 7:30 AM)Intermediate experience working with Microsoft products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Ability to obtain a Full BI background investigation clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

2 or more years of related experience with Mainframe applications (ZEEK, ZEBB, SA, CA and/or IBM products) in an operations team environmentWorking knowledge of JCL.Experience using and/or working on ATL (Automated Tape Libraries).Experience working with tape media.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $22.85 - $26.45. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
