Data Center - Facilities Engineering Operation and Maintenance Manager

Role Overview:

Responsible for leading and overseeing the engineering and maintenance operations of the facility, ensuring that all systems function optimally and safely. This role demands a strong technical understanding, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to excellence in maintaining the facility's infrastructure and equipment. Individual who is accountable for the entire Critical Environment operations, safety, risk mitigation, maintenance, improvements to the physical CE Infrastructure, scheduling and hiring personnel for the assigned critical facility, site or campus. Responsibilities should include: Coordinates with other teams, manages the facilities engineering and operations staff as assigned. Ensure compliance with facility operating procedures, processes, work rules, national, state, and local safety and operating codes as well as regulatory compliance Assisting and planning with client on facility issues. Works closely with Client on the notification, planning and resolution of facility issues. On call 24x7x365 and respond to all facility emergencies. Establishes performance benchmarks, conducting analysis and preparing reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management: Lead and supervise the engineering and maintenance team, ensuring effective performance and adherence to best practices. Maintenance Oversight: Ensure the preventive and predictive maintenance of all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other critical systems. Customer and goal focused: Ensures that both the customer and the team are the priority, fosters teamwork and drives for results. Compliance: Ensure all operations are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations and standards related to facility operation and maintenance. Safety Standards: Establish, implement, and monitor safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe environment for both staff and facility occupants. Continuous Improvement: Evaluate the facility's systems and processes, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and sustainability. Emergency Response: Lead the team during emergencies, ensuring timely and effective response to minimize impact and downtime. Training & Development: Identify training needs and ensure the team receives the necessary technical training and professional development. Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors and contractors, ensuring quality work is completed on time and deliverables are submitted. Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of maintenance projects, potential issues, and general facility health.

Qualifications

Strong electrical and HVAC background in areas including UPS and emergency power systems, Chillers and Cooling Towers, Steam Plants and boilers PM Requirements and attention. Ability to read and interpret facility blueprints and electrical schematics Experience with Building Automated Systems Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and regulations Contract management experience helpful Excellent verbal and written communication skills Computer literacy including a working knowledge of MS Project and the MS Office Suite Fluent/Experience in a Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) A demonstrated ability to identify, analyzes, and resolves complex problems associated with general construction, and maintenance/repair of commercial facilities.

Requirements

High School Diploma required with minimum 15 years experience or Associate’s degree with minimum 13 to 15 years experience or Bachelor's degree with minimum 10 to 12 years experience or minimum 7to 9 years experience with a Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Top-Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) with Polygraph clearance required Stationary Engineer Highly preferred Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Strong knowledge of facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Proven ability to manage and lead diverse teams. Budget management experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to facility operations. Ability to handle emergencies and high-stress situations effectively.

Abilities:
