As a Data & Application Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building and maintaining robust data pipelines and application infrastructure that support software applications, services, and data analytics needs. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, developers, and solution architects to ensure efficient data processing, storage, and availability for business insights.
Your expertise in configuring and managing servers, containers, and cloud-based platforms will help optimize performance and reliability. You will also drive innovation by adopting automation, optimizing workflows, and staying ahead of industry trends.
This is a Fixed Term 12-Month contract.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering: Design, build and maintain efficient, reliable, and scalable data / ETL pipelines. Application Infrastructure & Platform Management: Configure and optimize servers, containers, and cloud platforms for performance and security. Security & Compliance: Implement best practices to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance. Innovation & Automation: Drive efficiency by automating workflows and integrating emerging technologies. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to support business objectives.Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or related field.
Experience: 5+ years in data and application infrastructure engineering, with expertise in ETL, platform management, and security best practices.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of data infrastructure technologies (Databricks, databases, data lakes, other big data frameworks). Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). Proficiency in automation tools and DevOps practices. Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
