As a Data and AI Specialist, you are going to be the cornerstone of the data team, playing a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing data-driven solutions across our company. You will bridge the gap between data science and data engineering, developing and implementing advanced analytics and machine learning use cases to drive digital transformation. You’ll drive complex projects from ideation to production, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to create value across the entire lifecycle of the use case.
What are the key challenges for this role:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for both batch and real-time processing.Implement data ingestion and transformation workflows for structured and unstructured data.Ensure data quality through cleansing, validation, and anomaly detection.Apply parallel computing techniques to optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing for efficiency, scalability and performance.Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.Develop and implement machine learning models to generate business insights.Analyze large datasets to extract actionable intelligence and support data-driven decision-making.Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate needs into data solutions.Deploy and monitor models in production, ensuring performance and reliability.Leverage Prysmian Data Platform for building robust analytical solutions.Follow MLOps best practices, ensuring reproducibility and maintainability of machine learning models.How is success defined in this role?
Study and align with the team regarding existing architectures, technologies, and guidelines, and propose potential cost optimizations.

Who are we looking for?
Degree in Computer Engineering, Mathematical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related STEM field.3+ years of experience in data engineering and/or data science.Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark (or similar big data technologies) for data processing and analytics.Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and services for data management, processing, and analysis (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses).Strong knowledge of data exploration, transformation, and analysis, including data quality best practices.Experience in designing and maintaining scalable pipelines for structured and unstructured data processing.Experience with model development across its entire lifecycle, from ideation to monitoring, including MLOps best practices.Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and model lifecycle management systems (e.g., MLFlow).Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards, with experience implementing best practices.Nice to have:
