**Responsibilities:**
GENERAL PURPOSE:
With limited supervision, and latitude for and exercising independent judgment, creativity, and decision making, provides data analytics, business and project management support to the Golisano Children’s Hospital (GCH) Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Nursing Officer (40% of effort) and the GCH Quality and Safety Team (60% of effort). Develops methods for data collection, analysis, and reporting for assigned area. Utilizes best practices. Analyzes and interprets data using statistical techniques. Identifies actionable insights and recommendations. Creates presentations and reports based on findings. Works directly with clients to identify analytical requirements as well as collect data requirements, analyze, determine technical issues, and design ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and other visualizations. Collects, analyzes and documents business requirements and translates into function and system requirement specifications. May guide other less experienced team members and assist in coordinating project teams.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
**Data Collection & Management**
**Performed in support of** **Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, and the Quality and Safety Team** **:**
+ Partners with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data requirements.
+ Gathers, cleans, and organizes data from internal and external sources, including hospital (e.g., Epic, McKesson) systems and external datasets.
+ Ensures data integrity, accuracy, and completeness for use in analysis and reporting.
+ Maintains data repositories, ensuring accessibility and efficiency for future reporting needs.
+ Collaborates with ISD and data engineering teams to streamline data pipelines and optimize storage systems.
+ Works with teams to identify and resolve data-related issues and inefficiencies; suggests and implements strategies for improving data collection processes and for ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
**Data Analysis & Reporting**
**Performed in support of** **Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, and the Quality and Safety Team** **:**
+ Analyzes data using statistical and analytical tools to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
+ Develops dashboards, visualizations, and reports to present data findings to various stakeholders.
+ Performs ad-hoc analyses as needed to support organizational goals.
+ Provides actionable recommendations based on data insights to improve business performance.
+ Communicates analysis results, methodologies, and implications effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
+ Provides training or support to colleagues on the use of data tools and systems.
**Project Management**
**Performed in support of** **the Quality and Safety Team** **:**
+ Plans, coordinates, and executes projects related to performance analysis and quality improvement.
+ Develops detailed project plans, sets timelines, and defines deliverables to ensure timely completion of initiatives.
+ Monitors project progress, identifies risks, and recommends solutions to address delays or roadblocks.
+ Facilitates communication and coordination among cross-functional teams involved in projects.
+ Documents project outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations for process improvements.
**Survey Submission and Analysis**
**Performed in support of Chief Clinical Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, and the Quality and Safety Team:**
+ Leads the preparation, completion, and submission of the annual **_U.S. News & World Report_** **Best Hospitals survey**
+ Collaborates with clinical, operational, and administrative teams to collect and validate data required for surveys.
+ Analyzes survey methodologies to ensure accurate representation of the organization’s achievements and strengths.
+ Develops and documents processes to streamline the preparation and submission of future surveys.
+ Monitors and tracks changes in survey guidelines and reporting requirements to ensure compliance.
+ Analyzes survey results, benchmarking the organization’s performance against peers.
+ Identifies strengths, gaps, and opportunities based on survey outcomes and performance metrics.
+ Conducts root-cause analyses to understand underperformance in specific areas.
+ Collaborates with hospital leadership and quality improvement teams to develop actionable strategies for improving rankings in future surveys.
+ Tracks progress on implemented strategies and adjust recommendations as needed based on new data or emerging trends.

**QUALFICATIONS**
**Required:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Health Informatics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
+ 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within healthcare or hospital administration.
+ Strong understanding of healthcare data, including quality metrics, patient satisfaction scores, and operational benchmarks.
+ Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Advanced proficiency in Excel and other data manipulation tools.
+ Strong communication and presentation skills.
**Preferred:**
+ Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and data extraction tools (e.g., Epic, Epic Clarity).
+ Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
+ Proficiency with SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis languages.
