V2X is seeking a Data Analyst to support the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons & Guided Munitions Division (E20) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) that conducts research and development analyses in the following technical disciplines: guided munitions including guided and unguided projectiles, guided missiles, and guided rockets, advanced fire control and methods to close the fire control loop against threats, gun and launcher systems, sensors, and high speed projectiles and bullets.
An active Secret clearance and US Citizenship is required. This position is full time on site at NSWCDD.

Responsibilities
Major Job Activities:
+ Applies mathematics, statistics, predictive modelling and machine learning techniques to discover meaningful patterns and knowledge in recorded data.
+ Plans, designs, creates, amends, verifies, and documents new and amended software components.
+ Building tools for data testing.
+ Analyzes data with high volumes, velocities and variety (numbers, symbols, text, sound and image).
+ Develops forward-looking, predictive, real-time, model-based insights to create value and drive or automate effective decision-making.
+ Presents findings and data insights in creative ways to facilitate the understanding of data across a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Identifies, validates, and exploits internal and external data sets generated from a diverse range of processes.
+ Manages data and information in all its forms and the analysis of information structure (including logical analysis of taxonomies, data and metadata.
+ Travel to test events for approximately 7-10 days on average per quarter.

On site in an office / lab environment at the NSWCDD.
Physical Activities:
+ Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
+ Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
+ Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.
Qualifications
Required Education:
+ Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
Required Clearance:
+ Candidates must posess an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance.
Experience:
+ R programming language experience.
+ Six (6) years professional technical experience, which includes at least four (4) years specialized experience performing mechanical, electrical, aerospace, industrial, systems, or computer engineering. Engineering experience includes any of the following:
+ Systems requirements management
+ Model-based systems engineering design
+ Engineering software tool implementation
+ Prototype engineering design and product development
+ Integration engineering
+ Risk management
+ Test and evaluation engineering planning and execution
+ Coding and software development experience highly preferred.
+ Experience and knowledge in mathematical reasoning.
Skills & Technology Used:
+ R programming language.
+ Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing for required customer support and requirement gathering and validation.
+ Knowledge of analytical tools and evaluation techniques.
