Data Analyst - Counterparty Credit Risk

**Job Description**
**Job Summary**
Performs data mining and analysis to identify risk exposures arising from trading and deposit counterparts.
Contributes to the continued development of a firmwide risk system through the design documentation and testing of enhancements.
Assists in transforming data into information, information into insight, and insight into decisions.
Makes judgments and recommendations based on the analysis and interpretation of data.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Gathers and transforms large datasets from relational databases.
+ Interprets risk data using critical thinking and quantitative analysis.
+ Prepares ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
+ Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in data sets.
+ Assists in generating requirements for system enhancements on agile release schedule.
+ Identifies and develops process improvement opportunities.
+ Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly risk reports.
+ Assists in periodic client portfolio risk review.
**Knowledge of**
+ Data mining in relational databases.
+ SQL query writing, report preparation and persuasive presentation.
+ Principles of statistics and accounting.
+ General concepts of capital markets (fixed income, equities, derivatives).
+ Concepts of agile software development lifecycle.
+ Experience with risk management methodologies.
**Skill in**
+ T-SQL and PL/SQL
+ Advanced Excel skills
+ Working with large datasets
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to work on multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
+ Problem solving
+ Optional: Python, Pyspark, Data Visualization (Qlikview, Tableau)

**Education/Previous Experience**
+ Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of one (1) year of relevant business experience in financial services.
+ OR ~
+ Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience approved by Human Resources.
