Data Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst will be responsible for partnering with the Commercial team, proactively monitoring trends, performing ad-hoc analysis and modeling to support business reviews, board meetings, and monitoring of strategic initiatives across the department.  This role is also responsible for incentive compensation calculations and contest calculations, generating the weekly and quarterly standardized reporting and as well as supporting Business Operations department in all data governance projects.   


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Provide analytical support to Business Ops, Marketing, Market Access, and Sales developing enhancements to existing reports to incorporate user feedback and address information gaps including facilitating monthly review meetings, highlighting trends observed in data, and completing any ad-hoc analysis neededMaintain and deliver reports that represent demand sales and prescription activity from a variety of data sources, providing analyses in multiple formats to functional partnersPerform quarterly field activity analysis across disparate systems to correlate activity with sales performance and identify any trends highlighting territory successManage monthly incentive program calculations and sales contest reportingResponsible for data governance across commercial organization including the overall management of ad hoc and scheduled reporting and partnering with the brand team in ROI modeling for key strategic initiativesReview and QC of multiple reporting streams including QuickBase Dashboards, Excel output and PowerPoint decksPowerPoint presentation support for management meetings and periodic commercial reportingGeneral commercial project management, and other related operational duties as needed/appropriate

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:  

A minimum of a B.A./B.S. requiredExperience within pharma/biotech desired, especially within smaller, early-stage companies with commercial staffing.A minimum of 3 years of combined commercial, operations, analytical or other related experience in areas such as finance, project management, computer/software/analytics systems, etc.Requires MS Office proficiency including Excel analytical techniques and PowerPoint presentation construction.Experience with utilizing analytical software/tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Quickbase, SQL/VBA scripting, etc.)Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks under pressure and within short timelines, in an environment of frequently changing prioritiesAbility to be flexible and to work well with others across multiple functions.Exceptional problem-solving skills, detail-oriented and strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).Rigel requires all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 (subject to any legally required exemptions)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk; sit; talk and hear.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT:  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Position may require occasional/limited travel for business meetings, conferences, and vendor meetings (approx. 5-10%)
