The Data + Automation Leader is a multifaceted role that provides vision, leadership, strategic value and deep tactical expertise in the design technology and digital project delivery space to our offices and projects teams globally. You will use your soft skills, relationship building and technical expertise to drive with confidence process innovation, optimization, and digital platforms implementation in partnership with your fellow studio members and the regional design technology community. Ultimately, we believe that this role is a key contributor to delivering the highest value and best outcomes to our clients.  With strong emphasis on data-driven design approaches & initiatives, you will have a key global leadership role to bring the most advanced concepts, workflows, and technology to practitioners around the globe.

What You Will Do

Define and implement innovative technology solutions with strong focus on Data-Driven approaches, Automation and Computational BIM workflowsLead strategic initiatives with strong focus on advancing data-driven approaches and establishing highly sophisticated, scalable, and integrated digital workflowsCreate bespoke computational solutions / code to address challenges for specific projects and / or to prototype new technology opportunities.Support and drive the development and adoption of current and future design technology Gensler IP platformsCollaborate and partner with DT-colleagues to research emerging technologies, define use-cases, and develop highly-refined prototypes in alignment with business priorities and goalsEvaluate Practice + Client + Project use-cases / needs and synthesize into opportunities that improve data quality and availability from our design modelsEngage with practitioners and other design technology leaders to understand project and practice area needs and synthesize into build vs. buy strategiesAssist in the design and development of interactive PowerBI Dashboards and tools supporting next-gen data-driven design and client engagement workflowsChampion digital transformation and cultural change throughout the firm

Your Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent10+ years of experience across all project phases including various project typologies and scales with strong command of the design processDocumented progressive growth and experience in leading / supporting Design Technology and innovative framework / workflows in project deliveryArticulate communicator with strong storytelling ability to push new innovative concepts and ideas in a highly creative cultureStrong interpersonal skills with ability to listen and drive consensus through relationship building and ability to win the trust of teammates and project teamsInsatiable curiosity about new topics and challengesDocumented results in developed methods / tools adoption at scale and with global perspectiveDemonstrated ability to develop learning material, deliver effective training and provide ongoing education and technological support to project teamsExpert proficiency in design authoring platforms Rhino and Revit including advanced implementations across the project’s lifecycleProficiency with computational / generative design platforms and visual scripting / programming such as Dynamo and Grasshopper with examples of sophisticated implementationsWorking knowledge of AEC cloud-based products / API capabilities such as Autodesk Platform Services and Autodesk Construction CloudDemonstrated experience with PowerBI – Dashboard Design, Data Processing, Query CreationExperience working with SQL, JSON and other database / data formatsBasic Knowledge of the Revit API capabilities and limitationsProficiency with advanced geometry translations / interoperability pipelines is a plusExperience building and deploying Dynamo plugins with C# and / or Python is a plusExperience as a Product Owner / Product Manager in AEC is a plus

*Our target base compensation range in Los Angeles is $130-145k plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience*

*Our target base compensation range in San Jose and San Francisco is $150-165k plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience*
