About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and experienced Program Manager to lead and oversee nuclear decommissioning projects in Eastern Europe. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, a proven track record in managing complex projects, and experience collaborating with governmental agencies and/or international institutions such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Fluency in English and international project experience are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Management:
• Lead and coordinate all aspects of nuclear decommissioning projects, ensuring timely and efficient delivery within scope, budget, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement project plans, risk management strategies, and reporting frameworks.
• Monitor and control project progress, ensuring alignment with regulatory, safety, and technical requirements.
2. Stakeholder Engagement:
• Act as the primary liaison with governmental agencies, EBRD representatives, and other key stakeholders.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among international and local project teams, regulators, and contractors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure support and alignment with project objectives.
3. Technical Leadership:
• Provide technical oversight and expertise in nuclear decommissioning processes, including dismantling, waste management, and site remediation.
• Evaluate and integrate innovative technologies and methodologies to enhance project efficiency and safety.
• Ensure compliance with international standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
4. Team Management:
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of professionals, promoting a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring effective delivery of services and materials.
5. Financial Oversight:
• Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and efficient allocation of resources.
• Prepare and present financial reports, proposals, and funding applications as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, preferably within the nuclear decommissioning or energy sector.
• Demonstrated experience working with governmental agencies and/or EBRD on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
• International project management experience, particularly in Eastern Europe, with knowledge of regional regulatory frameworks and cultural dynamics.
• Strong understanding of nuclear decommissioning processes, waste management, and environmental remediation.
• Leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of additional Eastern European languages is an asset.
Attributes:
• Familiarity with international nuclear safety and environmental standards.
• Experience managing contracts under FIDIC or similar frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in cross-cultural environments.
• PMP, PRINCE2 certification is a plus
