  Under the direction of the Anatomic Pathology Supervisor, as a Cytologist, you will screen ThinPrep gynecological slides and non-gynecological slides such as cytospins, ThinPrep smears, and cell blocks. You will be responsible for documenting daily quality control and performing quality assurance within the department, which includes participating in proficiency testing. Teaming with pathologists, you will discuss diagnoses and/or quality issues with specimens. We are no longer performing FNA/ROSE procedures.

Hourly Pay Rate: $31.58 - $46.58
 

Qualifications
Education:

Requires a bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or in a related science field, with a Cytotechnology certification from a 12-month AMA accredited cytotechnology program.

Experience:

Prior experience performing cytological specimens is preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

Requires certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English. Requires excellent time management skills and customer service skills. Must possess basic computer skills in a Windows environment. Analytical skills are strongly preferred.
