Mission:

As part of the Cybersecurity team, the Intern will be responsible for developing dashboards and automated reporting to consistently track the health of our security program. They will also be responsible for designing and deploying a new security awareness tactic to better engage with associates.  

During the internship, this candidate will help to improve productivity of the broader team by enabling automation and enhance our security program through better associate awareness and transparency of program health through metrics and dashboards.

 Essential Job Functions:

Design meaningful metrics for critical cybersecurity capabilities that provide visibility of our security posture and program health. Create dashboards and automated reporting of those metrics leveraging technology, such as our Security Event and Information Management (SIEM) platform, PowerBI, or other tools. Research and recommend other ways to track program health and proactively identify issues. Research and recommend ways to leverage Artificial Intelligence to improve operational efficiency and team productivity. Participate in our security awareness strategy design initiative to determine potential improvements to our awareness tactics.

 

Experience & Technical Skills Required:

1+ years of experience working with IT or cybersecurity technology (e.g., firewalls, vulnerability scanners, routers/switches, Active Directory, AzureAD, forensic toolkits). Experience with BI and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) a plus. Ability to build relationships and leverage subject matter expertise to drive conversations and/or influence decisions/direction with the Cybersecurity team and larger IT team. Strong communication skills (verbal/written). Ability to create and maintain technical documentation.

Educational Requirements:

Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college majoring in an IT related field. Equivalent work experience considered.

Other Required Skills:

Demonstrated perceptual and analytical thinking. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and team-oriented work style. Ability to translate technical information into language non-technical people will understand. Fortitude to demand excellence from self and others.
