Job Description
We are a leading global supplier of controls and simulation solutions for marine, power, and space sectors, including naval communications, underwater acoustics, handling systems, and visual landing aids. The Marine division supports the Canadian government on all their military ships and works with international governments, handling all the controls and equipment on the ships except weapons. As the ships are modernized, more software is added, creating a cybersecurity threat that clients are increasingly concerned about. This necessitates the expansion of our cybersecurity team.
ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and implement various cybersecurity and IT technologies as part of the Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) solution.Provide support to other teams by educating, simplifying complex concepts, and prioritizing tasks to enhance the product's security.Identify security vulnerabilities in the product, prioritize them, and take action to address them.Develop automation, scripts, and potentially write code to support cybersecurity efforts.Create requirements for other software to meet cybersecurity standards and needs.Deploy cybersecurity technologies to strengthen the solution’s overall security.Essential Skills10+ years in cybersecurity within a software development environment.Experience with secure software development, including OWASP Top Ten vulnerabilities, secure coding, penetration testing, and threat modeling.Proficiency in static and dynamic code analysis.System administration experience with Linux and Windows.Knowledge of firewall, scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python), endpoint security, identity and access management, and cryptography.Vulnerability management and software configuration.Experience with virtualization, containerization, and virtual networking.Must be eligible for NATO clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsProven ability to assess the security posture of a product, modify architectural components strategically, and lead targeted changes to reduce the product’s attack surface.Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain cybersecurity concepts to development teams and assist them in implementing various security measures.Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills based on both quantitative and qualitative data.Cybersecurity certifications.Familiarity with Atlassian tools.Proficiency in French is an asset.Work Environment
This is a hybrid role with 3-4 days in the office. You will be part of a cybersecurity team with two experienced engineers. The team is growing, with new major contracts starting soon, offering stable, long-term projects in the defense industry. This role provides an opportunity to develop skills and implement new technologies.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $85.00/hr.
