The Customer Service Lab (CSL) is committed to providing exceptional technical support and services to glass laminators in the automotive and architectural markets worldwide. Our primary goal is to address customer-related issues, perform precise analyses tailored to customer needs, and support product applications effectively. As an integral member of the CSL team, you will focus on delivering specialized and diverse support to both internal and external customers. Success in this role is measured by our high levels of customer satisfaction, the timeliness and effectiveness of our problem resolution, and our ability to bolster sales and market growth. Our CSL teams, located in Asia and the US, work collaboratively to distinguish Saflex® (PVB-sheet) through best-in-class service. To achieve this, we require our teams to be highly flexible and responsive, capable of quickly addressing urgent customer issues and adeptly adapting to changing customer demands. In this role, you will engage in performing detailed analyses, resolving complex customer problems, and supporting the development and application of our products. Your contributions will be vital to maintaining the high standards of service that set Saflex® apart from its competitors. Responsibilities
As a Customer Service Lab Analytical Technician in Ghent, reporting to the Technical Service Manager EMEA, you will: • Promote Safety: Ensure a safe, clean, and organized working environment. • Conduct Experiments: Work on internal and external customer requests and projects • Collaborate: Support the TS, Sales, Technology, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Quality Control teams in the development, production, release, and sale of our high-performance interlayer products. • Process Samples: Analyze and create a wide range of samples for both internal and customer needs. • Perform standard and advanced Analyses: Create laminates and perform numerous tests on samples, as well as utilizing FT-IR, GC-MS, and SEM-EDX for contamination identification, surface analysis, and composition analysis. • Expand Technical Expertise: Develop in-depth knowledge of multiple analytical and lamination techniques. • Optimize Techniques: Maintain, improve, and implement new analytical methods to enhance efficiency and accuracy. • Investigate and Solve Problems: Support internal and external complaint investigations by providing problem-solving analyses and recommending appropriate next steps. • Develop Projects: Manage, participate in, and follow up on projects and testing programs. • Handle Administrative Tasks: Create comprehensive scientific reports and presentations to summarize results and update internal or external documentation.
Qualifications
• Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Material Sciences, or a related field. Prior work experience or knowledge in analytical techniques is a plus. • Analytical Interest: Strong interest in analytical testing equipment and a desire to expand your knowledge. • Project Support: Enthusiastic about supporting internal and customer projects, and proficient in setting up tests for product development. • Independent Work: Able to work independently within our team, planning your own tests and critically interpreting the results. • Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to devise innovative solutions. • Time Management: Capable of managing multiple deadlines and effectively prioritizing tasks. • Initiative and Flexibility: Demonstrates initiative and drives solutions without relying on standardized actions. Flexibility is crucial, as daily priorities will shift based on incoming requests and business/market needs. • Team Player: Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues. • Attention to Detail: Highly accurate and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on housekeeping and safety. • Language Skills: Fluent in Dutch and English, with the capability to write reports in English independently. • Communication: Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
