Purpose: Receive, store, select, pack, and distribute warehouse inventory while providing the best customer service to our customers while onsite at customer facilities or industrial job sites. Reports to: Profit Center Manager Minimum Qualifications: • Ability to perform the physical requirements necessary to receive, pick, pack, ship, and move materials throughout the warehouse, including, but not limited to, standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, cutting wire, and lifting materials weighing up to 70 pounds. • Ability to operate and maneuver warehouse equipment, including, but not limited to, pallet jacks, forklifts, and push carts, in the manner necessary to move materials and consistent with manufacturers’ instructions and safety instructions. • Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including the ability to perform physical requirements, adapt to seasonal changes, significant temperature variations, and inclement weather conditions. • Ability to abide by safety instruction and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or its equivalent is required. • High school diploma or GED. • Must have a valid driver's license. • Ability to pass a DOT commercial driver medical certification physical. • General knowledge of electrical products. • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirements. • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in order to accurately complete job tasks. • Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements. • Able to meet deadlines. • Excellent attendance record required. • Able to work overtime as needed. • Other duties as assigned. • Receives material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly. • Verifies the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list. • Prepares a receiving report if none is available. • Assembles and fills orders to be shipped to customers or other locations. • Loads common carrier and company vehicles. • Assembles customer orders to be shipped via UPS. • Processes paperwork regarding UPS shipments including: verifying that the merchandise to be shipped is correct, applying the correct UPS postage tape, following customer shipping instructions and insuring the shipment when necessary. • Gathers assembled orders that are in carts and verifies their quantities and descriptions. Counts and writes total quantity of merchandise being shipped on the invoice. • Packs each order into a container and arranges the container onto a shelf according to truck route. • Stocks incoming orders onto shelves. • Measures, cuts, and spools wire materials. • Verifies quantities and items being shipped against the invoice. • Substitutes for other warehouse personnel when needed. • Makes deliveries as needed. Preferred Qualifications: • Microsoft Office Excel experience preferred. • Basic computer skills required. • Microsoft Outlook experience preferred. • Knowledge of basic warehouse procedures • Knowledge of processes for receiving, selecting, packing and shipping • Ability to interact with customers in a positive way to build relationships and additional sales opportunities. • Ability to be detail oriented • Ability to work in a fast paced environment • Ability to work with little or no supervision • Ability to successfully complete all Company training designed to comply with regulatory requirements • Ability to perform physical requirements Working Conditions: Warehouse and office environment. May be some exposure to dust, heat or cold, and other seasonal changes. On-site at manufacturing facilities and industrial construction job sites delivering material and performing VMI activities. Supervisory Responsibilities: No Essential Job Functions: • Perform any and all physical requirements necessary to lift and move inventory around the warehouse. • Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment and any material(s) contained thereon in the manner consistent with the intended purpose of the equipment and the manufacturers’ instructions. • Maintain the warehouse in an orderly and clean state; follow all company safety procedures; perform daily safety inspections. • Unload delivery vehicles, accurately identifying material, breaking down material, and noting discrepancies per CED processes. • Accurately store product to proper location per CED process; the use of light equipment may be required. • Select and pack customer orders per the CED process; ensure conformance to customer standards and expectations. • Delivery Driver; operate a light van or flatbed delivery truck to deliver customer orders; ensure that customers’ orders are delivered to meet customer expectations. • Perform will call duties for counter employees. • Perform miscellaneous clerical duties such as daily cycle counts. • Perform counter sale responsibilities as backup personnel; ensure conformance to customer standards and expectations. • Make sure customers have the best service possible. • Identify additional sales opportunities at customer sites. • Build relationships with customers that you work with to gain additional business insights. • Restock on-site inventories (VMI) at customers, look for additional crib items to add to VMI program, and make changes to quantities and products based on customer discussions and feedback. • Use phone/tablet based VMI applications to track and reorder customer inventory. • Create outbound shipping documents using warehouse computers and confirming deliveries using shipment applications on mobile tablets. • Other duties as assigned.
