Leidos’ Defense Systems Land Systems Business Area is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to join our growing Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) team in Huntsville, Alabama. This role will report directly to the Program Manager and will have a large impact on developing relevant solutions for our nation’s warfighters.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Deputy Program Manager will have a key impact on program execution and will:

Evaluate and guide daily execution activities in support of the program managerLead IPT meetings and set expectations for project teamRoutinely evaluate programmatic metrics to ensure successful executionManage risk and identify opportunities at the IPT level including working with the IPT to develop mitigation strategies and plans to realize opportunitiesIdentify capability or process gaps and provide recommendations for improvementFoster intra-project coordination and communicationCreate project plans and maintain project objectivesDefine tasks and required resourcesAssist with managing project teamWork with program schedulers to maintain scheduleSupport earned value management cost reporting to the customerDevelopment, management, coordination and presentation of various informational products to support:Weekly management meetingsMonthly internal and external programmatic reviewsTracking and providing status of internal and external action items

Basic Qualifications:

BS degree in Business or Engineering from an accredited school and a minimum of twelve (12) years of direct experience, or a MS degree from an accredited school and ten (10) years of direct experienceCost estimating and Budget managementLeading a large and diverse team including suppliers and subcontractorsDisciplined metric-driven program managementProven experience managing and meeting tight schedulesEffective communication of information between various functional disciplines as well as strong briefing skills with senior customer and corporateProficient using Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPointProven leadership skills including working in a team environment, fostering communication, listening to teammate concerns and reconciling internal issues or differencesProven ability to solicit and process complex information and data to solve complex problems and make sound decisionsAnalytical and strong organizational skills, with excellent verbal and written abilityCandidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, areaMust be a US Citizen possess and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting a multi-year development/production program valuing more than $100MExperience with data analysis tools, scheduling, and financial tracking systems is a plusExposure or general knowledge of Earned Value ManagementOriginal Posting:April 24, 2025

Pay Range:Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
