**_Objective of the Position_**
Crop and Crop Systems are fundamental approach drivers in Agricultural Solutions long term strategy. The Crop Strategy in a country is the responsibility of Crop Manager.
Crop Strategy encompasses
1. Steering key levers eg Innovation & Portfolio for a Crop
2. Enabling business objectives of sustainable profitable growth for responsible Crop in the short term
3. Leading sustainable Portfolio development for the crop in long term (Including – Out & In Licensing)
4. Formulation and execution of Marketing Strategy:
1. Business Long Term Forecast (LTP) & Business Case developments (Process ownership)
2. New Product Launches (Process ownership)
3. Right marketing mix - Product, Price, Positioning, Branding, Communication
4. Life Cycle Management
5. Competitive track & Generic defense
6. Taking proactive strategic moves to gain Market Share in Crop
**Main Responsibilities**
**A] Develop and Drive Crop Strategy**
+ Own & lead - Crop, Customer Needs, Market & Competition understanding on a long term horizon
+ Identification of new crop opportunities for existing products & development of BCs
+ Identification of innovations & development of Business Cases for new Products
+ Ensuring profitability of current & future portfolio in a Crop
+ Successful adoption of Global and Regional concepts to Crop strategy
+ Ensuring business alignment in LTP/AMIGA
**B] New Product Launch**
+ Lead and Drive New Product launch process for owned Assets
+ Collaborate with R&D, Tech Services & Regulatory Teams for meeting Crop objectives of new Products
+ Ensure timely launches and delivery of Business as per projected Business cases
+ Lead and drive Product maturity in three years time horizon from launch year
**C] Drive Crop-wise annual Sales budget achievement**
+ Provide support & enable budgeting process for befitting market objectives
+ Lead and drive Crop business for the year, with befitting marketing support
+ Coordinate with BUs, Supply Chain & Controlling teams for meeting business delivery objectives
+ Propose measures to improve profitability - for Existing & New products in coordination with Controlling team
+ Post season - Product audits and implement learnings into next year Crop strategy
**Job Requirements:**
+ B.Sc.(Agri)/M.Sc.(Agri) + MBA/PGD (Agribusiness Management) from Tier 1 institute
+ 10 to 15 years’ experience in Sales & Marketing, with at least 5 years’ experience in Marketing as a Crop Manager or Brand Manager
+ Excellent understanding of Crop Protection Industry and Market Knowledge
+ Good knowledge of Crop, Agronomy, Farming practices in various parts of the country, Crop Protection industry and market knowledge
+ Should be able to drive the portfolio with good influencing & execution skills
