We are currently hiring for a Crew Leader, Maintenance to join our Maintenance team at 600 Clarke Road, London. This position is on our B Shift: 2:50pm-11:10pm (Monday-Friday)

 

As a leader of the team, the Crew Leader sets the example of team leadership within the McCormick High Performance System (MHPS) environment. The Crew Leader ensures overall performance of the team. This position pro-actively encourages continuous improvement and daily problem solving initiatives to increase operational effectiveness and efficiencies.  

The incumbent must be able to effectively coach, train, and verify 100% compliance to plant established procedures (including safety, work rules) while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people and following the McCormick Shared Values. Must be able to structure their approach based on the core belief that the success of the company depends upon the capabilities and contributions of all people in the organization.

 

Position Overview:

•    Provide maintenance support to the Canadian manufacturing facilities with primary concentration in London Ontario. 
•    Track work order completion and send out daily turnover reports
•    Meet or exceed annual departmental goals and objectives 
•    Lead by example, ensure Health and Safety as well as Human Resources policy adherence 
•    Remove barriers and obstacles to team performance. Demonstrates a sense of urgency, ownership and tenacity to resolve problems
•    Communicate and collaborate daily with Team Manager to administer the day to day maintenance operations and ensure oversight of team and performance is monitored effectively
•    Provide input for evaluations and development/training plans for employees and effectively handle team interactions, including conflict management 
•    Ensure operational procedures (SOPs), safety procedures, GMP standards, and best practices are consistently followed and standardized
•    Adhere to government regulations and guidelines for machinery repairs.
•    Contact H&S immediately when an employee is injured and complete accident/incident report in absence of Team Manager 
•    Leads and/or facilitates continuous improvements initiatives, including PDCA and root cause analysis
•    Train new and existing employees by building technical and business competencies within team. 
•    May complete other duties as assigned
•    Work overtime/shutdown periods where required, support on call weekends as scheduled

 

Requirements:

•    Demonstrated practice of leadership principles and organization skills required. Formal leadership training an asset 
•    Demonstrated analytical/critical thinking skills to determine risk assessment and the ability to prioritize multiple requests
•    Strong problem solving skills and the ability to resolve issues and concerns
•    Ability to understand financial impact of business decisions affecting staffing, product components, inventory, etc.
•    Licensed Millwright (433A) or Industrial Electrician ( 442A or equivalent) 
•    Food processing/packaging experience is preferred
•    Demonstrated experience in both Mechanical and Electrical trades preferred.
•    Ability to work with minimal supervision
•    Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Willingness to upgrade technical skills as required
•    Physically capable of carrying out all aspects of tasks involved
