The Crew Chief in Training’s main responsibility is to learn the technical and managerial skills required to become a Crew Chief.

Backhoe operator experience and Class A required

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Learn and refine technical and managerial skills of a Crew ChiefMaintain a 45% billable rateResponds to call outs and after hour emergencies.Ensures that all SOPs, DOT, OSHA and other requirements are followed.Operates vehicles & special equipment including forklift, backhoe, amphibious vehicle, vactor, probing rod, motor vehicle, portable generators, pumps, chain saws, chop saws, sewer cleaning machine, etc.Installs, repairs, and problem solve in distribution systems (water and sewer) in both team and individual environmentsOther duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Education/Experience:  High School Diploma or GED. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:  Valid Driver’s License and maintains insurable driving record

(Class A CDL required in order to drive combination rig of truck, trailer & backhoe within six (6) months).

Technical:  Basic knowledge with Microsoft Office, internet, phone systems, computers, OSHA requirements, DOT regulations, backhoe operations and distributions systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to:  frequently lift 50-100 pounds; load, unload & move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
