Credit Portfolio Senior Group Manager
Citibank, N.A. seeks a Credit Portfolio Senior Group Manager for its New York, New York location. Duties: Review and provide challenge to credit requests, and make final decisions on approving extension of credit for commercial banking customers, including mid-corporate clients. Perform second line of defense as an Independent Risk Approver for regulatory safety and soundness compliance. Provide credible challenge for credit proposals presented by the Business, offer solutions in terms of proper credit structures while ensuring the prudent management of the firm’s capital. Collaborate with Loan Operations, Service, Product Managers, Remedial Management, Legal, and Compliance to achieve the firm’s objectives that include identifying customers who meet Citi´s risk appetite, delivering appropriate solutions to customers, and achieving business growth under a balanced risk/return approach. Provide approval on a wide range of credit products (includes capital markets, derivatives, and leveraged finance), industries, and types of financings (includes revolving credit facilities, terms loans, and acquisition financings). Identify trends and risks in the portfolio based on underwriting standards, changes to Underwriting Terms and risk appetite, Allowance Credit Loss, Remedial Strategy, Cost of Credit, BASEL, Early Warning Process. Leverage understanding of risk principles, including market, operational, cross border, and concentration risk, to support Citi’s value proposition. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols. Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Business Administration, or related field and 6 years of experience as a Credit Risk Senior Manager, Credit Portfolio Group Manager, Credit Risk Manager, Risk Manager, Risk Assets Manager, or related position involving credit risk management for a financial services institution. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in the stated fields and 8 years of the specified progressive, post-baccalaureate experience. Full span of experience must include: Challenging, reviewing, and approving credit requests, and providing rationale for credit decisions; Credit portfolio and credit lifecycle management, including underwriting standards, risk rating methodologies, adherence to Target Market and Underwriting Terms, risk appetite, Allowance Credit Loss, Remedial Strategy, Early Warning Process, Portfolio Management and Analytics; Credit products, including commercial lending products and derivatives; Handling complex credit requests and business issues, and developing alternative solutions; Risk assessment, including problem recognition, defining, and structuring solutions for credit related issues; Applying credit methodologies applicable to classifiable-managed and delinquency-managed portfolios; and Regulations, policy, credit process, collection strategies, and procedures applicable to delinquency-managed credit activities.
