CREDIT CONTROL MANAGER

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the credit control manager position is to collect tuition fees for the brand and minimize risk by recovering bad debt and overdue fees.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Maximum Collection  

Proactive role in ensuring accounts are billed correctly.Proactive role in managing and collecting debts to ensure targets are achieved.Ensures that credit controllers have met their daily call rates and that billing adjustments are processed.Approving extended credit payment termsQuality and compliance checks on staff calling.

Minimize Risk

Proactively ensuring high-risk debt accounts are suspended and not allowed to continue studies.Develops policies and procedures to ensure risk is minimized.Identify and target high-risk debtors to minimize risk.Ensure students that have registered have met the minimum (academic) requirements and have paid the deposit.Conducts audits at campuses to ensure compliance to policies and procedures.

Staff Management

Conducts on the job training monthly to develop staff.Manages the performance of staff through the performance management system.Takes disciplinary action when necessary.

 

General Management – Administration

Manages overall debtors’ administration, student queries, Customer services tickets, Hello Peter queries.Analysis of credit balances, unallocated and other accounts related to debtors.Ensure debtor's statements are correct by ensuring adjustments, bursaries etc are allocated correctly.Authorizes salary deduction payments for staff studying or who have children studying at Rosebank College.Deals with queries on accounts that have been handed over to pre-legal to recover.Ensures that cancellation penalties are in line with policy e.g. deferring and freezing of studies.

Month End Reporting

Runs month-end D365 reports on age analysis, credit balance analysis, revenue, exception analysis and cash flows for all campuses.Perform commission calculations for staff and run appropriate report to enable these calculations.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications

Bachelor of Commerce (NQF Level 7 Qualification)

Experience

Credit management role (5 years)Staff Management involving Recruitment and Selection; Performance Management; Management of discipline in the workplace and Conflict Management (5 years)Managing a call centre.Sound technical software expertise including debt collection software, Excel, and Word.

Preferred

Honours/postgraduate in Commerce or Credit management qualification (NQF Level 8)Excalibur Debt collection software experience and knowledge
