About The Role Summary: Under general supervision of the Senior Credit Analyst Lead and in conformance with established Bank policies and procedures, the Credit Analyst II is responsible for providing credit analysis for the lending activities of the Bank. The Credit Analyst II will provide analytical services in the administration of loan accounts and service to Loan Officers and Loan Operations in all facets of loan compliance. This position requires the ability to support loan officers and loan operations in interpreting and implementing policies and procedures to comply with laws and regulations. This person must demonstrate the initiative to act on their own with little direction to perform and provide diverse administrative duties and support; ability to process detailed information with accuracy and efficiency; maintain calendars and schedules of appointments; ability to work under pressure, while communicating a positive, friendly attitude; availability and willingness to be team player to work well and communicate effectively with all levels of Bank personnel and outside business contacts. Assignments involve work of a confidential nature, necessitating exposure to sensitive information and contacts requiring discretion, judgment, tact, and diplomacy, as well as practical knowledge of the practices and procedures of the department and general bank policies and programs. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide excellent service to all internal and external customers, supporting the goals and mission of the Bank. Effectively communicate with lenders, management, customers, and other bank staff to obtain additional information or to relay information. Accurately underwrite, analyze, structure, and prepare presentations for loans. Analyze the credit and collateral aspects of business and individual loans both secured and unsecured. Negotiate with lenders concerning underwriting and arrive at an appropriate credit structure that conforms to the Bank’s Loan Policy. Monitor loans to ensure proper documentation with respect to items such as periodic calculation of ratios to determine financial covenants. Assist with documenting loans to ensure complete loan files are maintained. Undertake special projects relating to departmental services as assigned by Chief Credit Officer or Senior Credit Analyst Lead or Co-Lead. Use various software programs in the course of the daily work routine to prepare and manage loans, schedules, conduct financial analysis or other risk assessments, and provide written comments and documentation as necessary. May be assigned various projects involving research on lending programs, review of outstanding loans or exploration of lending alternatives for prospective customers. Perform additional duties as assigned or as the situation dictates. Regular and predictable attendance to accomplish job duties and provide in-person contact with customers. Participate in a continuing educational program(s) as directed by supervisor and management, including but not limited to complying with all requirements, policies, and procedures of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), attending all mandatory BSA training as needed for this position, and completing all required compliance and regulatory training, not limited to BSA. Become familiar with and periodically review the Bank’s robbery recovery procedures and security and safety procedures. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date. About You QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent credit analyst knowledge gained through a combination of education and experience Minimum of three years prior experience in commercial lending. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY: Ability to process detailed information with accuracy and efficiency Assignments involve work of a confidential nature, necessitating exposure to sensitive information and contacts requiring discretion A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, with others in the Bank to perform effective reviews and to report the results. Knowledge and proficiency with various computer programs; including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel, various database software programs, and other software commonly used in the banking industry Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate detailed information in clear, easy to understand manner Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to both prioritize and multi-task while adapting to changing workflow and personalities Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages and ability to apply concepts of basic math Basic understanding of financial data such as cash flow, balance sheet, income statement, and collateral valuation Analytical skills to assess and evaluate areas of responsibility including determination of loan risk involved and recommendation of credit limitations Must make sound judgments and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to read and understand individual and business tax returns, audited, or reviewed financial statements, and company prepared profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows Thorough knowledge and experience with computers used in banking as well as proficiency in various computer programs; including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel, various database software programs, and other software commonly used in the banking industry Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate detailed information in clear, easy to understand manner Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to both prioritize and multi-task while adapting to changing workflow and personalitie Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages and ability to apply concepts of basic math Analytical skills to assess and evaluate areas of responsibility including determination of loan risk involved and recommendation of credit limitations Must make sound judgments and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding any information obtained during the course of performing job duties; adhere to Bank policies and procedures regarding confidentiality WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
