Posting Number NONAC3360 Job Title Credentialing Coordinator Position Title Credentialing Coordinator Position Type Non-Faculty Number of vacancies 1 Salary Commensurate with experience Department MHC Credentialing Position Summary The Credentialing Coordinator position is responsible for initiating appropriate documents from departments and new providers to credential practitioners with insurance payors in a timely manner. Requirements include government enrollment submissions/follow-up and the re-credentialing of healthcare professionals where working knowledge and maintenance of various databases (Pecos (CMS), CAQH, Cactus) are required to support the credentialing process. It also supports departmental interactions to ensure effective and efficient completion of the credentialing process, ultimately establishing physician provider statuses with payors. Minimum Qualifications
Education: Minimum of two (2) years of college education or Associate’s Degree.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of provider enrollment credentialing experience. Knowledge of credentialing provider enrollment procedures. Experience and working knowledge of the CAQH (Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare) database and Pecos CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) database systems. Experience with provider enrollment government application processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in emails, letters, and memos. Strong customer service, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field, business administration, or a similar field. Prior credentialing experience in a healthcare setting. Self-motivated, analytical thinker with strong attention to detail. Critical thinking, problem-solving, relationship building, and innovative thinking are highly preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
