WCBD TV is an NBC Affiliate Station owned by Nexstar Media Inc.  We are located in the beautiful Lowcountry area of Charleston, SC.  Charleston is known for its warm weather, friendly people, charming downtown, outstanding food, beautiful beaches, and so much history.

The Creative Services Producer will be a highly motivated and creative individual. This position will be expected to write scripts, shoot video and use editing software to create promotional spots, public service announcements, commercials and additional content as needed.

Job Responsibilities

Writes scripts that promote news stories and station initiatives, PSAs and commercials that are :30 or lessOccasionally writes scripts for long format videoWorks closely with the News department, under the supervision of the Creative Services Director, to conceive and produce compelling on-air promos either independently or as a teamAttends daily News meetingsPlans and execute shoots by choosing locations, scheduling talent, identifying necessary equipment, setting up video and audio equipment and composing shotsShoots video for promotional and commercial effortsMaintains video equipmentComes up with a creative and cohesive look for spotsCreates graphics and text pieces to be used in spotsPerforms other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:

High school diplomaPrevious television experience preferredFluency in EnglishExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenValid driver’s license with an acceptable driving recordAbility to write compelling copy for promotional spots and commercialsProficient in using professional editing software, preferably Adobe PremiereComfortable creating simple motion graphics in Adobe After EffectsMust have an eye for photography by understanding lighting and compositionMust have previous experience using professional cameras to record video and audioUnderstanding of basic graphic design conceptsMust be able to work in a deadline driven environment and ensure that assigned projects are delivered on timeMust have flexibility to occasionally work at station events in the community on weekends
